ACCESS:   Off Monsey Heights Road, Monsey.   

DIRECTIONS:   Traveling east on Route 59 turn right on New County Road, then left on Monsey Heights Road to park entrance approximately 1200 feet on the right.   

PARKING:   Undeveloped.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:   The park lies southwest of Monsey Glen across from the New York State Thruway and on the northwest side of the railroad bed.  The park is traversed by an Orange and Rockland high tension line.  In the middle of the park is a small wet area that supports wildlife similar to those found in Monsey Glen.  Trees are similar such as Red Oak, Black Oak, Maple and Poplar.   

HISTORY:   In 1981, the park was a gift from the Schwartz family in memory of their parents Lillian G. and Frank J.  Schwartz.  Dr.  Schwartz was a practicing physician in Spring Valley for fifty years and during this time served on the Village Board for 29 years.  Mrs. Schwartz was a charter member of the Spring Valley Auxiliary to Good Samaritan Hospital and started several other philanthropic organizations.  She was active in the PTA and the Business and Professional Women's Association.   

PRESENT USE:  Wildlife preserve for nature study.   

FUTURE USE:  To maintain as a nature preserve.  

WILDLIFE OF RECORD:   White-tailed Deer, Muskrat, Raccoon, Skunk, Opossum, Rabbit, Woodchuck, Chipmunk, Vireo, Warbler, Woodpecker, Nuthatch, and Wood Thrush.
