Children
are a basic measure of how well a family and a neighborhood are
doing.
When families and
neighborhoods are safe, stable, and have a strong sense of
community, children have a better chance to grow up healthy and
develop positive attitude about themselves and others.
Because
families are the innermost circle in which children grow and learn,
it is important for every sector of our communities to make a
serious investment in supporting parents and strengthening families.
We
all have a role in helping families. And today, more than ever
before, we know what can work to make homes and neighborhoods good
places in which children can grow strong, healthy, safe, and
oriented towards positive goals.
Now
there is excellent research and knowledge that we can all share. |
