Department of Health
This site provides up to date information on a wide array of services and programs. In addition to urgent health information, learn about the diverse clinics and children’s services we provide.
Department of Hospitals
The Department of Hospitals is the county leader in excellence in long-term care and provides centers of excellence in the areas of geriatrics, rehabilitation, and care of residents with Alzheimers Disease.
Department of Social Services
The Department of Social Services accurately and efficiently provides benefits and services to the people of Rockland County in a manner that promotes self-sufficiency, protects the vulnerable, and is recognized as being fair and responsive.
Office for the Aging
The Rockland County Office for the Aging has a primary goal of achieving a comprehensive and coordinated system of services for our 46,518 residents over 60 years of age, including securing and maintaining maximum independence in the home environment, and providing advocacy activities by and for the elderly.
The Rockland Alliance for Prevention
The Rockland Alliance for Prevention is a network of people from all walks of life and all sectors of the community working in partnership with local government to prevent and reduce problems in Rockland County related to the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs."
The Rockland County Office for People with Disabilities
Welcome to the Office for People with Disabilities. We are here to serve Rockland County residents of all ages, and provide information and resources to the community. We respond to individuals, care givers, agencies, businesses, as well as Rockland County Departments and other municipalities.
The Rockland County Youth Bureau
The Youth Bureau is a public planning, funding, advocacy and coordinating agency for youth and family programs in the County of Rockland. All programs and services provided through the Youth Bureau are free of charge.
Information and Referral Service
Provides information about local health and human services to all county residents regardless of income. Makes referrals to financial assistance units and services of the Department of Social Services, provides information and linkage to other community agencies and resources.

Office of Mental Health
Office of Mental Health operates psychiatric centers across the state, and also regulates, certifies and oversees more than 2,500 programs which are operated by local governments and nonprofit agencies. These programs include various inpatient and outpatient programs, emergency, community support, residential, and family care programs.
Office of Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities
The state of New York and its local governments have a responsibility for the prevention and early detection of mental retardation and developmental disabilities and for the comprehensively planned provision of services including care, treatment, habilitation and rehabilitation of their citizens with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
Office for the Aging
The New York State Office for the Aging serves as an advocate for over 3.2 million New Yorkers 60 and older. The Office advocates for older persons at all levels of government and the private sector with the cooperation of concerned organizations and older New Yorkers.
Office of Children and Family Services
The OCFS has numerous responsibilities including: foster care, adoption and adoption assistance, child protective services, preventive services for children and families, services for pregnant adolescents, child care and referral programs, and protective programs for vulnerable adults.
Commission on Quality of Care for the Mentally Disabled
The Commission on Quality of Care for the Mentally Disabled serves people with mental disabilities and their families by providing independent oversight of the quality and cost-effectiveness of services provided by all mental hygiene programs in New York State.
Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance
The OTDA promotes greater self-sufficiency of the State's residents through the efficient delivery of temporary and transitional assistance, disability assistance, and the collection of child support.
New York State Women’s Advisory
The Women’s Advisory serves as an advocate for women's issues by working with many legislators, state agencies and women’s organizations to improve the lives of women and their families in New York State. The Women’s Advisory tries to improve the opportunities for and delivery of services to women by sponsoring workshops and events.

The PATP provides answers to your questions about programs, services and supports for individuals with disabilities and their families. Our knowledgeable information & referral staff will respond courteously and comprehensively and direct you to the nearest and most appropriate resources.

Administration for Children and Families
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is responsible for federal programs that promote the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals, and communities.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) National Mental Health Information Center provides information about mental health via a toll-free telephone number (800-789-2647), this web site, and more than 600 publications. The National Mental Health Information Center was developed for users of mental health services and their families, the general public, policy makers, providers, and the media.

State Children's Health Insurance Program
SCHIP is designed to provide coverage to "targeted low-income children." A "targeted low-income child" is one who resides in a family with income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) or whose family has an income 50% higher than the state's Medicaid eligibility threshold. Some states have expanded SCHIP eligibility beyond the 200% FPL limit, and others are covering entire families and not just children.
