Of the United States Government and Armed Services And To Create “A Wall of
Heroes” for Rockland County Residents Currently Serving In Our Armed Forces New City, NY (April 8, 2003)
– In support of the efforts of the United States Government and armed services
currently serving for our country, Legislators Ilan Schoenberger, Philip Soskin, and Robert Berliner have introduced Legislation to create “A Wall of
Heroes” in the Legislative Chambers for Rockland County residents currently
serving in our armed forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and throughout the world. The United States of America
is currently engaging in a war against terrorism to help keep the world safe
for Democracy. The Rockland County
Legislature recognizes the sacrifice of our armed forces personnel in aiding
our allies around the world. The “Wall
of Heroes” will include the names, towns, and villages of residence as well as
photographs of all such personnel. Legislators Ilan Schoenberger, Philip
Soskin, and Robert Berliner stated, “We want to publicly
recognize Rockland County residents who are currently battling the forces of
terror in Iraq, Afghanistan and throughout the world.” Chairman Sal Corallo added,
“We all support our armed services personnel and fervently hope for their quick
and safe return home.” The Legislation will be voted on at the full Legislature meeting on April 15th in the Legislative Chambers, 11 New Hempstead Rd., New City. |
