The Rockland Assistance Center
845-708-7100

The Rockland Assistance Center is a centralized County resource that was created to provide comfort and assistance to residents impacted by the events of September 11, 2001.

Within hours of the tragic events of September 11th, community members all over Rockland reached out to suffering families. Within days, county agencies and individuals created a Center to provide assistance of all types to bereft families and other traumatized residents.

The center continues to provide a range of free services devoted to community healing. A dedicated volunteer staff helps residents by providing educational materials on coping with reactions, speaking to community groups, along with individual counseling or support groups.

The Rockland Assistance Center continues to offer services due to a dedicated partnership between the following agencies:

Rockland County Department of Mental Health
Rockland County Executive’s Office
Rockland County Legislature
Rockland County Department of Social Services
United Hospice of Rockland
Clarkstown Police Department
Ramapo Counseling Center
Mental Health Association of Rockland
Rockland Bar Association & Jewish Family Services
Rockland County PBA
Suffern Rotary
